Service Overview
With Port Louis serving as the principle maritime hub, the MSCL vessels MV Mauritius Trochetia and MV PEROS BANHOS provide regular liner services to the neighbouring islands, ensuring reliable connectivity and the steady movement of passengers and cargo.
Upon request the MSCL also organises special voyages, including night and sunset cruises along the coast of Mauritius, offering a unique maritime experience.
The MSCL also provides the following:-
The MV “Peros Banhos” and MV “Mauritius Trochetia” sail to Rodrigues, effecting a total of 3 to 4 voyages per month, carrying passengers, bulk, breakbulk and containerized cargo. Sea passage is about 36 hours for the Port Louis / Port Mathurin journey and about 24 hours for the return leg.
The management of the island of Agalega falls under the jurisdiction of the Outer Islands Development Corporation. This parastatal body usually charters our vessels 3 to 4 times in a year for conveyance of passengers and cargo to Agalega.
In addition, requests are made from major private contractors to charter our vessels on a regular basis. Those contractors are assigned by the Government of Mauritius to develop the infrastructural structure at Agalega.
